The Cost of Silence

These two bodies are no longer individuals.

They have become the shared memory of those whose voices could not be heard.

The burn marks are not inscribed upon the body alone, but upon thought itself. Rising from the feet to the head, they trace the silent geography of oppression.

For oppression first restrains movement.
Then it silences creation.
Finally, it reaches thought.

This sculpture stands as a quiet witness to those judged for their ideas, silenced for their words, and denied simply for existing.

The two figures face the viewer.
They say nothing, yet leave nothing unsaid.

For some silences are deeper than screams.
And sometimes a single sculpture can carry the memory of millions whose voices were suppressed.
